Postojna - Ljubjlana

This morning we had breakfast (fresh coffee, naturally), checked out of the campsite, parked the van just outside the gates and cycled down to the caves. Must have been about 3 miles of slight undulations - more down than up though I would say.
The caves were good - they are the number 1 tourist attraction in Slovenia apparently, and it turns out I have been before when I was younger. Luckily (as with Venice) I don't remember - so I may as well not have been before.

Unfortunately when we came out of the caves it was raining. Hard. And we had to cycle back up the hill to the campsite.
To postpone the inevitable, we had some lunch and then - well - we had to go.

After that we set off - staying off the motorway this time - to Ljubljana - passing some nice countryside on the way. Unfortunately it didn't stop raining the whole time, nor when we actually got to Ljubljana - which is a shame as we didn't really feel like walking about. So, we sat in a car park and got internet instead - not so exciting it has to be said - but more civilised than normal.
Once I had failed (again) to get the photos on the blog we pushed off to the local campsite - another very nice place just north of the town Laguna Camping
but of course then there was the rain............ another night in the van!!
